Out of Karen Rosenberg's multiple, presented strategies, I already use her strategy of scanning through various elements of the text to discover the author's intended audience. Through attempting to recognize what information an author expects the reader to have prior knowledge of, it's possible to make a good inference of what audience the author was trying to give his or her attention to with the text. Analyzing the title and structure of the work gives me a better understanding of who the author was mainly trying to convey their ideas to. One of the strategies Rosenberg encourages is treating the text as if you were currently communicating with the author. I believe this is an essential strategy that encourages the reader to connect with the author more and develop a greater grasp of the topics at hand. This assists me in writing my, "Doc1," paper by giving me a better idea of determining how to write in a manner that clearly allows my audience to connect with me as the writer, and gives me more insight into how to approach my subject of college obstacles.
The way you broke up some of her strategies I agree that the audience is the key factor in writing a essay. Personally you have helped me into gathering new information this was very helpful to me in the process of writing my Doc 1 essay. Thank you !
