When developing my writing, I abide by Hinton's suggestion to, "calculate the best approach," and view it as one of the most important strategies a student can employ. Settling on a specific structure to aim for, along with analyzing and understanding what my approach to it should be, is important for organizing my ideas. I question how the paper should flow between idea to idea, and what elements work best in synergy. Patterns need to be chosen correctly according to how I choose to design the outline of what I'm writing, like applying causes and effects, comparisons, or other patterns to reinforce relationships between these ideas. I try to make the structure of my writing concise and clear for the reader, and apply any other criteria I know needs to be met. Decisions need to be made of where certain topics should go, or the order of which ideas are introduced. By considering these carefully and acknowledging how each idea should be given to the reader, I'm able to produce an acceptable paper that conveys what I want it to. I do so by planning and handling the writing in the way you need to for the intended audience and purpose. Following this suggestion helps keep me from getting stuck at the start of the writing process, because I'll know what exactly I'm writing and how I'll do it.
